How do I get an OpenAI API key? ▾

Sign in or create an account at platform.openai.com.
Open Billing and add a payment method plus a few dollars of credit. API usage is billed separately from a ChatGPT Plus subscription.
Go to API keys, click Create new secret key, name it "AI Cycling Coach" and copy it. It starts with sk- and is only shown once.
Optional but recommended: set a monthly budget under Limits so your spend can never surprise you.

You pay OpenAI for usage. Every coaching email and reply is generated with your key, so the token costs are billed by OpenAI to your account — not by us. We never charge you anything.
